At MDI, we believe in the power of community and the difference we can make when we come together. As part of our commitment to social responsibility, MDI has been a proud supporter of the United Way of 1000 Lakes for over a decade. This long-standing partnership has enabled us to positively impact the local community while fostering a spirit of teamwork and giving back among our employees.

This year, MDI’s workplace campaign exceeded expectations, raising a remarkable $74,000 over the years for United Way programs and initiatives. From chili cook-offs and pie-in-the-face challenges to themed dress-up days and holiday bingo, our workplace campaigns are filled with fun and creativity, but the heart of it all is the collective effort to support those in need.

Beyond fundraising, our employees show up year-round for #DayofAction projects, giving their time and energy to support United Way initiatives directly in the community. Whether it’s through volunteering for local projects or participating in team challenges, MDI’s commitment to the United Way is unwavering, and it continues to make a real difference in Itasca County.

This year, from October 28th to November 7th, we came together in Grand Rapids and Cohasset for a week filled with exciting activities that helped us reach our campaign goal of raising over $6,000. Some of the highlights included our Spaghetti Feed, the popular Spin the Prize Wheel, and the infamous “Fill the Jar” challenge, where the winning team had the honor of decorating MDI team members—on their heads!

The success of this year’s campaign wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible participation of everyone involved. Whether it was the friendly competition or the spirit of camaraderie, we came together to make a lasting impact on our community.
